Itty Bitty Triangle Earrings

Hi, my name is Victoria, and I'm addicted to making beaded triangles. Yes, I'm stepping up and admitting that I'm addicted to these guys. I was hooked the second I made my first one. And I really love making these tiny little triangles.

This first pair are made using a wonderful deep red seed bead. The beads have a little of a AB finish to them. I love these guys.

The beadwork is only 1 inch long and total they are a little over 1 1/2 inches long. So they are tiny and delicate. They are perfect for this time of year.

Check them out HERE.

The nest pair are made using a deep dark gunmetal with a little bit of a rainbow finish to them.

Again these little guys are about 1 inch and a little over 1 1/2 inches with the ear wire.

You can check them out HERE.

AND AS ALWAYS FREE SHIPPING ON EVERYTHING TO HELP PAY FOR LITTLE YODA'S SURGERY. THAT'S FREE SHIPPING ON EVERYTHING IN MY ETSY STORE.

YODA UPDATE! - I just got back from visiting Yoda. We had a little bit of scare last night. She had some internal bleeding and needed a blood transfusion. She's doing a lot better today; her blood pressure is back to normal and her red blood count is climbing. So hopefully she'll get to come home soon.

Puppy Update - Yoda's Surgery

So today was the day; Yoda had her surgery to fix her liver shunt. Last week she had a CT scan to look for the shunt. They found one single shunt that was bypassing her liver; so her blood was going right back to her heart without being cleaned and filtered. That's what was making her sick and have all the neurological problems.

I took her in yesterday for her pre-op check up. They looked her over and said she looked pretty healthy and this was the best time to do the surgery. They explained everything to me while Yoda tried to eat the one surgeon. She behaves so badly when we get here.

She stayed overnight last night so that she could be the first surgery this morning. I'm sure she had plenty of people to play with, because they love her here. I was told the surgeon was caught snapping pictures of her this morning, and he said that she's just so cute, he couldn't resist. Like I said everyone loves her here. I just hope she wasn't too bad of a biter. She went in to surgery between 8:00 and 8:30.

I can honestly say I didn't sleep that well last night. It was hard not having her at home and I'm so worried about her. Who knew that a little puppy could cause me so much trouble and worry. I'll be happy when her blood work comes back in a month and they tell me her bile acid levels are back to normal.

Her surgery went well, it actually went so well that they also spay her at the same time. So her liver shunt will close slowly over the next 3-5 weeks, and then she should be a healthy little pup. I hope she recovers fast so I can bring her home early.

I'm a little less stressed now that this is behind us. Now I just have to deal with the large vet bills that little puppy has racked up. Let me tell you, blood work, CT scans, x-rays, anesthesiology, and surgery are just as expensive for animals as they are for people. You would think I would get a little discount because I work here, but nope. Okay, I'm not going to start bitching about that right now, I'm in too good of a mood to think about it.

So the good news is Yoda is out of surgery and *hopefully* all fixed. I guess we'll know if she's getting better after her blood tests in a month. I can't wait to see my little potato. I miss her and it's only been a day and a half.

Please don't forget that I'm offering free shipping on EVERYTHING in my etsy store to help us pay for all of Yoda's procedures. That's FREE SHIPPING on EVERYTHING!!!

Lace Bracelets

I have a couple of beaded lace bracelets today.

The first is a silver lined deep red lace bracelet. I love this one. It's so pretty and delicate.

It's about 7/8 inches wide, so almost an inch, and about 7 1/2 inches long.

This bracelet would be great for the fall months as well as Christmas time. Or would just be great for that person who loves red. This bracelet will dazzle anyone.

You can find it in my etsy store, HERE.

The next one is really delicate. I used a wonderful mixture of pastel purples, pinks, greens, and blues. I then used a fantastic vintage button for the clasp.

This bracelet measures at about 1 1/4 inch wide and again about 7 1/2 inches long.

This is the perfect bracelet to brighten up the cold dreary winter days, conjuring up thoughts of warmer days filled with chirping birds and the smell of flowers in the air.

What's on the ol' bead board?

Here's what's on my bead board right now. I'm working on a line of guitar cuffs. I would like to do a number of iconic guitar shapes.

I'm also working on making the background a little bit more exciting. The green cuff I did sort of a spiral look using the same bright green color but one is transparent and one is opaque. I really love this look.

The second guitar is super bright. I'm using a bright yellow and a deeper yellow for the background and then a bright blue for the guitar. I'm really in love with this one.

I have one more guitar shape that I'm working on and then I have a few more ideas for future guitar cuffs. I'll get some pictures of those up as soon as I finish beading them.

New Pattern

I just listed my latest beaded cuff pattern. I enjoyed working on my guitar cuff so much, I thought I could offer it as a pattern.

I love this cuff. And J loves it too because it looks like his guitar. He's such a dork at times (but I love him).

You can find this cuff in my etsy store. The pattern is offered as a PDF file that will be sent through email (unless you would like a hard copy). This pattern includes a numbered graph, a color suggestion list, a pattern preview, a word chart, and tips and tricks.

I'm currently working on a bunch of different guitars and I hope to have some of those done soon (this weekend is my goal). I can't wait to try out a few other designs. I'll make sure to post those pictures as soon as I get them done.

Yoda Update - Yoda is scheduled for surgery next Wednesday. She will be having her liver shunt repaired (removed) and she will be spayed (if the first half of surgery goes well). Thank you all for your well wishes, it has really helped me get through this tough time. I'll keep everyone updated.

Yoda Update!

So It's been a while since I've posted anything again. I've just been distracted by all sorts of things lately.

But I have an update on poor little Yoda's condition. Like I said before, her pneumonia completely cleared up and she's back to running around like a crazy. She's responding unbelievable well to her medicine and new diet. No more beef for my little potato. She's strictly a rice and chicken fat girl now, mmmmmm sounds delicious, I know.

Yoda has been at the vets office at least once a week since she first got sick. She was cleared to start back up her vaccinations this week, so as of Monday she is all up to date on her distemper, rabies, and bordetella (kennel cough). She was not feeling so great after all those needle pricks on Monday. I took her home and put her right to bed.

Then Tuesday she was scheduled for her CT scan. Unfortunately no one felt the need to tell me that she was scheduled for this, so I fed her yesterday morning. This made it too risky for her to be sedated and have the procedure. Unfortunately there was a "miscommunication" as they called it, between internal medicine and anesthesiology, and my little potato was sedated anyway. And even though she was sedated, they still refused to do the procedure. Well this did not make me a very happy camper and they knew it. So after all of Tuesday's charges were cleared from my bill, Yoda was allowed to come home for the night. She was still pretty groggy all night, but she ate a healthy dinner and played for a bit. So instead of spending 3 hours at the clinic, I spent the whole day. Good thing I work here and I could go upstairs and get some things done (not that I could focus on anything).

So back to the clinic today. Yoda was the first one on the list for a CT scan this morning. They sedated her as soon as I got here and sent her little butt off for her CT scan. And the good news.....They found one single shunt that is bypassing the liver. This is good news because they said it looks like it would be an easy fix with surgery. So our little potato will have to have surgery to close off this blood vessel (at the same time as her spay, hopefully). And she should be all fixed after the surgery. She can go back to her normal diet and stop the meds. So right now we're relieved and happy. Surgery is risky and expensive, but it's a one time fix, so it will be fine. She will hopefully live a long happy healthy life after this surgery.

And don't forget that I'm offering free shipping on everything in my etsy store to anywhere. I'm going to be using that money to help pay off some of this debt that we've racked up fixing Yoda (too bad there isn't health insurance for animals, well there is but it's not really worth it). Please stop by my etsy store to pick up some early Christmas gifts, hey there is only 66 days left to shop. My Etsy Store.

Pretty in Pink

I've got a bunch of pink stuff.

✁✁✁✁✁✁✁✁✁

First off I have a fantastic pair of beaded hoops. I really like these. I used a mixture of pink seed bead soup to work these little babies up. Then I used pink glass beads in the middle to give them that little added sparkles.

They are very delicate and girly. I'm not normally a huge pink fan, but I really love these.

These hoops measure about 2 1/2 inches in length.

You can find these great little hoop earrings in my etsy store .

✁✁✁✁✁✁✁✁✁

Next up is this great little pink bracelet. I used a wide verity of different shades of pink. Then I threw in a few different types of purple beads. I finished this great bracelet off with this super fun purple swirl button.

I've been holding on to this button for a few years waiting for the perfect thing. I knew before I even started this bracelet I wanted to use this button.

This bracelet measures about 1/2 inch wide and about 7 inches long.

You can also find this bracelet in my etsy store.

✁✁✁✁✁✁✁✁✁

Then last but not least, I have a very cute pair of pink triangle earrings.

These little guys are using the same great pink bead soup mixture. They are extremely delicate, yet modern.

I love these little guys. The triangle itself only measures 1 inch long and they are a little over 1 1/2 inch with the ear-wires (sterling silver of course).

Tiny and pretty.

Check them out in my etsy store.

New Cuff, Voting Time and a Giveaway!

I am so excited about this new cuff. I worked up a simple guitar pattern a few months ago (okay maybe it was longer then that), but I just never got around to working one up. So I made it my goal for the weekend to make at least one guitar cuff.

This is what I came up with. It's really cool in person and looks great on.

I worked one that was a little bit different, and then after asking the guitar expert of the house what he thought, I ended up taking the first cuff completely apart. He gave me a few good pointers and a few things to add to the guitar. And I am so happy with his suggestions. It really makes the guitar look nice.

I also modeled this guitar after one of his (his favorite one). So everything is the same color as his guitar. Well almost everything; this one is missing a pick guard and the pickups are a different color, but it's still pretty close.

I'm so excited about how this one turned out. I can't wait to make a bunch more in all different colors and with different backgrounds. Woo Hoo!!

Puppy Update!

First off I just want to thank everyone who has helped out. Thank you for all the kind words, to everyone who has posted my button on their blog, and to everyone who has donated money. I never ever expected so many people to help out. Thank you all so so much. It is unbelievably appreciated.

☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺

Yoda had her 10 day appointment last Friday, and the good news, her pneumonia is completely gone. Her lungs looked so good in the x-rays, they were completely clear. Unfortunately for her she has to stay on her antibiotics for another week (she really hates that stuff).

She has another appointment this week. She's gonna get caught up on her vaccinations (we had to put them on hold until she was a little better). We also have to meet with her specialist and discuss getting her a CT scan to see if it is a shunt causing her problems and if it can be fixed.

It's pretty hard to even tell that she's sick any more. She runs around like a complete crazy. She loves playing with her toys, chasing the cats, and being as vocal as possible. But she is still a sick little puppy and if we took her off her special diet and medicine, she would go back to how she was acting a week ago.

So hopefully I'll have some good news soon.

Triangle Necklace

Since I've learned how to make triangles, I've been completely hooked. I absolutely love making them. I love how you can give them such a different feel with just a change of color or size.

I really like making ones that are hooked together like loops. I just love the way they work with each other. I also love the more 3-D look you get when you wear them.

This is the latest one I've made. It's just classic black and white, but I think it's pretty cool. I've worn it a few times and it looks pretty on.

What's on my Bead Board

Right now I'm working on a few different projects. I have a custom order for a cuff and a pair of beaded hoops that I'm trying to get done.

Then I am experimenting with fresh water pearls. I'm working on a really luxurious bracelet that is beadwoven with silver lined seed beads and then covered in white and light silver pearls. I'm in love with it. Unfortunately I ran out of pearls before I've finished, so now I have to wait for my next order to finish this one.

Then I'm working on a bunch of simple lace beaded bracelets. This one is using the same silver lined red beads as the last bracelet. It's simple, but really pretty.

So that's what's on my bead board right now. What are you up to???

Where have I been??? - Quick Update

"Look, I got a green bandage!"

So I have been a little absent lately, and for good reason. Our little Yoda has been pretty sick. She hasn't been her self for a few weeks and we just thought it was a combination of growing pains and teething, boy were we wrong.

I brought Yoda to the vet last week for her vaccinations and because she just wasn't acting like she normally did. The vet was pretty stumped on what was wrong, but they kept her during the day to watch her. She was feeling better in the afternoon, so she got to come home. Later that night she was extremely sick. She had obvious neurological impairment and just didn't look good. So I rushed her to the ER and they put her on oxygen and started the hunt for what was wrong.

When her x-rays and blood work came back they found the problem. Poor little Yoda has pneumonia and elevated bile acids (which means her liver isn't working). So she was put on a special diet, given medicine for her pneumonia and her liver problem. We will have to wait until the pneumonia clears before we find out what is causing the liver problem (more then likely it's a liver shunt).

But the good news is Yoda is back to acting like a puppy. She is very rambunctious, barking, and being silly. Unfortunately because of her pneumonia, she isn't allowed to play and run around. She has to stay as calm as possible, which she just doesn't seem to understand.

And luckily I work at the vet school, so not only do I know everyone who is working on my little pup, I am there all day long, so I'm always there just in case something happens. I'm very happy with all the work everyone down in the clinics have done. They have really taken care of my little baby and work really hard to make sure Yoda is around for a long time.

Right now we are playing the waiting game to see how her second set of x-rays look in 10 days. Then once the pneumonia is clear she gets a CT scan, and with luck on our side, she will have a condition that is correctable by surgery. And the running joke at work right now is that I'll never be able to leave the vet school because with all the vet bills, I'll be in debt to the school for the rest of my life (but she's worth it).
