Something New

What a week, what a week. We're dealing with triple digits here as well as humidity that is well over 60%.  Needless to say, it's fairly miserable.  I didn't even try to bike into work today.  I just got in my car and paid for parking.  Ugh, I hate this kind of weather.  How's the weather where you are?

My show last week was a bust, but it was still fun.  I got to talk to a lot of nice people and got a lot of feedback from them.  Which is important.  I was invited to two other shows, which is a nice feeling.  But as for sales, well, that was a sad story there.  And we had to listen to an Elvis impersonator for the majority of the day.  A bad Elvis impersonator.  But the weather was lovely and the company (J's my booth buddy) was fun, so I guess it wasn't a horrible day.

I did get some good feedback on my beaded pictures (tapestries, art, whatever you want to call them).  A lot of people picked them up and told me how cool they thought they were.  So I guess that is my go ahead for making some more.

Here is my latest one.  It's a color pallet that I wouldn't normally do, but I'm in love with how it turned out.  And I'm loving the silver frame, which is just a thrift store frame painted with stainless steel spray paint.

I got a few of this snake pendents that last time I placed a bead order.  They were on sale, and I thought they were sort of cool.  I had no idea what to do with them, but I figured I would think of something.

Like I said before, this was not really a color palette I would normally use, but I think I love it.  I love green and purple together to begin with.  But I really love the little bit of red pop.  It's unexpected and fun.

Here are the three that I have finished.  I have a bunch of ideas floating around in my head and I can't wait to put them down on paper (or beads).

What do you think?  Is this something that I should continue?  What do you think of the snake color palette?  Should I keep going with unique color palettes or should I go back to "normal" palettes?  I'd love to hear your opinions.

Sorry that your show was a bust, but I'm glad that it was still fun. I love the new color palette. I don't normally work with that combination either, but it comes together nicely. The snake is neat, too!

I love, love, love the first one you did (in the lower right) - the bright colors just make me smile!

I love the way those look, maybe you should try some pictorial ones such as a landscape?
