Friday Freebie

Wow, it's been over a week since I last did a blog post.  What the hell?  Well I have been fairly busy (who isn't).  I'll do a quick recap here before I get to the freebie.

Last weekend I had an art show on July 4th.  Sales weren't the best, but I did make a bunch of new contacts and talk to a lot of people.  I was even invited to a fine arts fair because the executive director of the show saw my work.  It was so nice to talk to people about my work.  People that are truly interested and excited for it.  It gave me a little boost of confidence I was really in need of.  My mixed media went over so well.  SOOOOO many people commented on it and asked about custom orders.  So I'm happy I made the decision to move from jewelry to mixed media.

After my show, we unpacked the car very quickly and drove to Milwaukee to see Brand New at Summerfest. It was a fun night and the band was great.  I was happy we decided to go, but I was exhausted by the end.

Then the rest of the weekend we worked on the deck and got the house ready to be painted.  It was a very long and tiring holiday weekend.

This week at work has been crazy.  Our first PhD student defended this week.  I think it went well.  Both oncology residents are up in the lab.  And everyone except me is on vacation.  Crazy.  But don't worry, J an I have planned our vacation for August.  And boy, I can't wait.  I'll have more info on that later.
