Yoda Update!
So It's been a while since I've posted anything again. I've just been distracted by all sorts of things lately.
But I have an update on poor little Yoda's condition. Like I said before, her pneumonia completely cleared up and she's back to running around like a crazy. She's responding unbelievable well to her medicine and new diet. No more beef for my little potato. She's strictly a rice and chicken fat girl now, mmmmmm sounds delicious, I know.
Yoda has been at the vets office at least once a week since she first got sick. She was cleared to start back up her vaccinations this week, so as of Monday she is all up to date on her distemper, rabies, and bordetella (kennel cough). She was not feeling so great after all those needle pricks on Monday. I took her home and put her right to bed.
Then Tuesday she was scheduled for her CT scan. Unfortunately no one felt the need to tell me that she was scheduled for this, so I fed her yesterday morning. This made it too risky for her to be sedated and have the procedure. Unfortunately there was a "miscommunication" as they called it, between internal medicine and anesthesiology, and my little potato was sedated anyway. And even though she was sedated, they still refused to do the procedure. Well this did not make me a very happy camper and they knew it. So after all of Tuesday's charges were cleared from my bill, Yoda was allowed to come home for the night. She was still pretty groggy all night, but she ate a healthy dinner and played for a bit. So instead of spending 3 hours at the clinic, I spent the whole day. Good thing I work here and I could go upstairs and get some things done (not that I could focus on anything).
So back to the clinic today. Yoda was the first one on the list for a CT scan this morning. They sedated her as soon as I got here and sent her little butt off for her CT scan. And the good news.....They found one single shunt that is bypassing the liver. This is good news because they said it looks like it would be an easy fix with surgery. So our little potato will have to have surgery to close off this blood vessel (at the same time as her spay, hopefully). And she should be all fixed after the surgery. She can go back to her normal diet and stop the meds. So right now we're relieved and happy. Surgery is risky and expensive, but it's a one time fix, so it will be fine. She will hopefully live a long happy healthy life after this surgery.
And don't forget that I'm offering free shipping on everything in my etsy store to anywhere. I'm going to be using that money to help pay off some of this debt that we've racked up fixing Yoda (too bad there isn't health insurance for animals, well there is but it's not really worth it). Please stop by my etsy store to pick up some early Christmas gifts, hey there is only 66 days left to shop. My Etsy Store.

I'm SO glad to hear that the fix will be an easy one for little Yoda. I'm off to check out your store now! Hugs and sloppy wet puppy kisses to little Yoda!
That is great news about Yoda! What a cutie pie too.
I'm so glad to hear the good news about Yoda!
I am so glad to hear that Yoda is doing so well. I have been worried about that cutie pie!
So happy to hear it! - Such a little sweetheart!
Thank you all. I am so relieved that this can be fixed with surgery. I've been so stressed out thinking about all the possibilities. I'll stop stressing after her surgery and after her blood work comes back normal.
How awful what happened Tuesday but I'm glad to hear they can fix her up easily! I just love seeing her cute little face in those photos!
I'm glad to hear that they found out what was wrong and can fix it. She is so adorable!
